Film At 11: Parquet Courts

Parquet Courts are bouncy and ambiguously upbeat on “Outside,” and the song’s video is a fun, bite-sized look into their live shows: Christmas trees, crowd surfing and eager fans jumping up and down in excitement. Check it out below.

Film At 11: Spiral Stairs

Spiral Stairs will release Doris And The Daggers later this week. Brainchild of Pavement’s Scott Kannberg, the band’s new video for “Dance (Cry Wolf)” is as tense and claustrophobic as the jittery rock song, characters trying to communicate with each other through tiny TV screens. Check it out below.

Film At 11: High Up

High Up’s funky “Two Weeks” comes from the band’s self-titled EP and sports a fun, diner-themed video. Still, the main attraction is Christine Fink’s powerful, soulful vocals soaring over intense, dizzying horns. Check it out below.

Film At 11: Kath Bloom

Kath Bloom will issue This Dream Of Life on March 10. With the release date approaching, MAGNET is proud to bring Bloom’s new video to your eyes. Film At 11: Split Single

It’s been a few days since we’ve posted something about Split Single, so let’s talk about the official video for standout Metal Frames track “Untry Love.” (We’re kidding about the number of Split Single items, but the Jason Narducy-led band deserves the love regardeless.) “Untry Love” finds Narducy, who wrote and produced the clip, receiving advice on between-song stage moves from comedian Dave Hill and singer/songwriter Anya Marina. Genial amusement ensues.

Film At 11: The Orwells

The Orwells will release Terrible Human Beings on February 17. Right now, though, we’re brining you the rollicking “Black Francis” (Pixies, anyone?) and its washed-out dance party of a video. Check it out below.

Film At 11: Foxygen

Foxygen‘s video for “On Lankershim” contrasts the song’s undeniable Fleetwood Mac influence with a plotless-yet-dramatic look into small town life. Characters walk forlornly around laundromats and dance silently in front of sliding window blinds. Check it out below. Hang is out now.

Film At 11: BONZIE

We are pleased to premiere the new video from BONZIE, a darkly supernatural clip for her song “As The Surface Rose.” The single is a textured dream that hinges on Nina Ferraro’s lavish vocals. The clip was shot by RobisRob, who gives the artist a natural, comfortable power beneath her own veil of northern lights. Check it out below, and keep an eye out for more from BONZIE in 2017.

Film At 11: Ty Richards

Ty Richards will release his new LP, Zillion, on February 3. Check out the animated video for “Going Out For A Cigarette,” which opens with a Humpty Dumpty lookalike falling into a blender. It’s a cool clip for a very cool rock tune. Watch it below.

Film At 11: Belinda Esquer

Belinda Esquer‘s video for “Look Inside” is as graceful as the song itself, a sweeping piano-pop tune against which we see Esquer wander through the wilderness, eventually falling into a pond of muddy water. Her The Truth EP is out right now. Check out the video below.
